Assessments

At times, psychometric assessments are useful for diagnostic clarification, development, intelligence, and academic accomplishments.  Wellness on the Lane has numerous clinicians, each with specialities in cognitive, academic and behavioural assessment. Clinicians can also assess for autism and ADHD in children and adults.

Intelligence Scales:

Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) - 4th Edition (WAIS-IV)
Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children - 5th Edition (WISC-5)
Weschler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence- 4th Edition (WPPSI-4)

Behavioural Scales:

Vineland-3 Adaptive Behaviour Scales (Vineland)
Child Behaviour Check List (CBCL)

Academic Scale:

Weschler Individual Achievement Test - 3rd Edition (WIAT - 3)

Autism Spectrum Disorder for Children/Youth:

Wellness on the Lane utilises gold standard assessment including the Autism
Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and also the Autism Diagnostic Interview
(ADI) which focuses on the kindergarten year. Assessment cost includes both these
assessments as well as a feedback session for parents and formal report.

Autism Spectrum Disorder for Adults:

Formal diagnosis will skill require both a diagnostic interview and an observational tool. ADOS is again used for adults, but given the difficulty for many individuals finding an appropriate informant for formative developmental years (4-5), the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA) is a new release from the UK which allows clients to report their own history and (if appropriate) include others in their assessment including partners/friends/parents. ACIA can be completed without the ADOS for non-formal testing (indication only) at reduced cost. Unfortunately, Medicare specifically excludes the use of referral for "therapy" sessions for completion of these scales.
